With a passion to empower independence, Hamelin Trust embarks on a transformative journey to revolutionise disability care in Essex.
THE BACKSTORY
Since 1991, Hamelin has been a champion for the learning disabled community throughout Essex. Partnering with the NHS, they've been transforming care since 2022, imagining a world where independence, not isolation, thrives. Their goal is to empower individuals to connect with their community, build skills, and live their best lives. Flexible funding and specialised services for neurodiverse needs ensure no one is left behind.
THE PROBLEM
Hamelin Trust is undergoing a transformative journey to provide radical support for Essex's most vulnerable. However, this ambitious overhaul, including new leadership, structure, and services, risks overshadowing their core mission. Their very name, "Trust," creates confusion about their charitable nature, while their outdated brand fails to reflect their passion. The community struggles to recognise this transformed organisation, with some even believing they've closed. Current outreach excludes crucial potential partners like businesses, and funding cuts from the NHS and local authorities necessitate new revenue streams. Finally, their communication lacks the power to inspire and attract broader support, while limited facilities restrict the number of people they can help. Despite these challenges, the CEO remains committed to shaking up the status quo and advocating for systemic change. A powerful new brand and story are urgently needed to embody this vision, secure much-needed support, and amplify their impact for the entire Essex community.
THE SOLUTION
For Hamelin to transform disability care in Essex, a compelling narrative was needed. To address this, they embarked on developing an in-depth brand strategy, crafting a story that showcased their purpose and empowering approach.
A comprehensive rebrand focused on three pillars: fostering optimism and fresh starts, raising aspirations, and empowering individuals. A new logo, featuring a bespoke "me" icon, symbolised this focus on individual potential. A calming colour palette based on research in autism and learning difficulties, along with clear typography, ensured inclusivity.
Brand graphics were crafted from the deconstructed logo, and powerful photography brought the Hamelin experience to life. Rounded corners added a touch of warmth, making the brand feel approachable. This meticulous approach underscored their dedication to empowering individuals to live fulfilling lives.
THE RESULTS
Hamelin’s rebrand is more than just a new look; it's a promise for a better future. With a clear story and a powerful visual identity, they are poised to revolutionise disability care in Essex. By fostering optimism, raising aspirations, and empowering individuals, they're ensuring a future where everyone can thrive. With the support of the community, Hamelin can continue to break down barriers and create a world where independence, not isolation, defines the lives of those they serve.
